What are we doing now?

With the market volatility at what seems like an all-time high, we tend to focus on our monthly statements showing an ever changing or declining investment balance.  What do we do now?

Research: looking for the companies with positive cash flows (we like good cash flow) and industries that will continue to grow. We look for companies with the potential to have respectable earnings, strong history of dividend paying,  within an economy that may be or may not be in recession.  It’s strange to watch the TV commentator shows when the first guest says we are in a recession and the guest that follows 5 minutes later says we are not in a recession – what to believe?

Review: each client accounts with respect to that client’s risk tolerance and time frame.  We don’t suggest selling anything at this point. It’s too late for that. However, holding is the way to create wealth. Granted, it is a tough slog, but the market will come back, and good companies will continue to create and develop to increase shareholder value.  Let’s go back to 1995 – if you purchased $10,000 of Chevron and held it, it is now worth over $175,000. Also remember, if you sell at a loss, it is an absolute loss. If you hold a stock through the downside, and it recovers in the future, you are creating wealth.

Planning: our focus is on helping clients forecast how their portfolios are going to look in retirement. A client’s view of retirement may have adjusted over the past few years, and we may need to run a current analysis to review and discuss. If you feel that your time frame or plans have changed, let us know and we can schedule a time to update. A review is always a good idea. We bring the future into the present to help understand what you are saving for – your goals.

We are living the ups and downs right along with you, but if you have questions we haven’t answered, please do not hesitate to contact us.  And, if you are ready for a review, let’s put something on the calendar now.  You can call, 949-339-2990, email keythe@procoreadvisors.com or bryan@procoreadvisors.com, or use Bryan’s calendar,  https://calendly.com/procoreadvisors
